Lomonosov Moscow State University was founded in 1755.  With 29 faculties, 350 departments and 15 research institutes, it offers to-day training in almost all branches of science and humanities. The University employs roughly 4 000 professors and assistants and approximately 5 000 researchers. More than 40 000 students as well as 7 000 doctoral candidates study there. The University provides continuing education to over 5 000 professionals. Every year, 2 000 foreign students attend courses at Lomonosow University.
